At Sea

Finally a sea day, our last for the cruise.  A day to catch up with some domestic duties and catch our breath after the last week or so.  We are sailing very close to the English coastline and from the port side we’ve passed by miles and miles of wind turbines, 217 in one group just 12 miles off the coast of Kent and Essex.  There are also many oil rigs along the way. We’ll also see the White Cliffs of Dover around 8pm. A couple of Air Force jets buzzed us during lunch, probably trying to defend or antagonise Mr Trump who is in London today.  Saw the film ‘Billy Elliott’ after lunch, appropriate as it was filmed in Durham and Newcastle!

Well, another enjoyable dinner, we shared a table with 4 Americans, one guy an ex senior FBI agent.  At around 8 pm we sailed past the White Cliffs of Dover - quite difficult to see due the sun setting in the West but we could faintly hear Vera Lynn singing in the distance!!!!  Elaine Gray, a Scottish soprano, sang songs from the Scottish Highlands to the Emerald Isles after dinner.

London tomorrow.  No pics today,
