At Sea
Slept well despite the interruption during the night when the door flew open. An announcement was made at 8.30am to say we were battling gale force 10 winds, with waves of 16 ft. Some storm!!!! As a result we’d be two hours late arriving in Sydney and the tour people were making alternative arrangements for excursions.
So, off to breakfast and at 9.30 the Captain made his announcement to say we would be by-passing Sydney as too difficult to get in there. Instead, we’ll have a nice quiet day at sea LOL!!!!! They’ve already filled the day with lectures, trivia, etc and there’s a huge contingent of Bridge players on board so they’ll be in their element. The winds have also increased since the earlier announcement.
The breakfast room was considerably quieter than usual, I reckon many will be feeling the effects of this weather. Cutlery & china didn’t fare well with many breakages!!! Spoke to our friends Joy & Ken & they’re still on the bed!!! Pity we’ve missed Sydney, I had booked a tour to the Alexander Graham Bell Museum but can’t help bad luck.
